Experience

Research Fellow - The University of Queensland
Feb 2024 - Present

I lead and coordinate research in the AAGI (Analytics for the Australian Grains Industry) program, a GRDC-funded partnership between The University of Queensland, Curtin University, and Adelaide University.

  • Developing and validating synthetic agricultural datasets using crop simulation.
  • Augmenting field-trial data to improve predictive modelling, yield estimation, and decision support.
  • Integrating statistical, environmental, and agronomic data streams to strengthen management recommendations across Australian grains systems.
Post-Doctoral Fellow - The University of Queensland
Jul 2022 - Jan 2024

I worked within the INVITA team (Innovations in Plant Variety Testing in Australia) to advance digital methods for variety testing and crop-environment analysis.

  • Expanded the use of remote sensing and data analytics in national variety trials.
  • Analysed drivers of crop growth and physiology using yield, weather, soil, and satellite datasets.
  • Built data management and quality-control pipelines for automated processing and analysis.
Post-Doctoral Fellow | Graduate Research Assistant - Kansas State University
Jul 2017 - Jun 2022

I conducted research and extension in crop physiology, nutrient management, and sustainable intensification, with a strong emphasis on data analytics and cross-environment synthesis.

  • Led and conducted more than 10 field research sites in cereals across North and South America.
  • Integrated meta-analysis, geospatial analysis, and crop physiology to support management recommendations.
  • Published scientific articles and delivered international conference and extension presentations.
Precision Ag Advisor - Agrodreams
Apr 2016 - Jun 2017

Member of the agricultural analytics unit supporting field-crop monitoring through UAV and satellite data.

  • Developed nutrient recommendation tools embedded in a digital platform for farmers.
  • Combined remote sensing imagery with agronomic interpretation to improve tactical decision-making.
Crop Advisor - Agronea
Dec 2015 - Jun 2017

Worked with farmers and industry as crop advisor and precision agriculture consultant.

  • Led the agricultural team to increase the nutritional and reproductive status of around 1600 beef cattle heads.
  • Manager of the team that performed a relevant inspection and improvement of rangelands and crops in a 2200 hectares farm.
Research/Teaching Assistant - UNNE
Feb 2013 - Nov 2016

Undergraduate research and teaching assistant at UNNE (Argentina), working on crop health, physiology, and applied agronomy.

  • Determinining the critical window of fungicide applications for leaf blight (Exserohilum turcicum) protection in corn for the region.
  • Planning and conducting the first quantification of corn silage quality and mycotoxins for the region.
  • Presenting research at international conferences in South America and in peer-reviewed publications.

Education

2017 - 2020
Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics
Department of Statistics, Kansas State University
GPA: 4.0
2011 - 2016
B.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering
School of Agricultural Sciences, Universidad Nacional del Nordeste

Academic merit recognition with distinguished GPA of 2016 (equivalent to Magna Cum Laude).
